Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics, athletes are calling for Coca-Cola and Pepsi to stop selling plastic bottles and promote reusables instead. Coca Cola is the biggest plastic polluter in the World and frequent sponsor of major sporting events where single use plastic bottles are ubiquitous. Over 100 current and former athletes, 22 of whom are competing in Paris, and nine sporting organizations all signed a letter requesting the companies move to end plastic pollution "in the spirit of the Olympics and sport".
