Scientists continue to seek the ideal plastic, emphasizing fewer types, non-petroleum sources, low emissions, reusability, and multiple recycling options. The key challenge lies in efficient plastic collection, requiring both improved systems and human behavior changes to address the plastic pollution crisis.
