According to the charity Tearfund, plastic waste is spiralling out of control in Africa. There has been an alarming surge in plastic pollution in Africa, which brings unfathomed threats to both biodiversity and human lives. Apparently, enough plastic to cover a football (soccer) pitch (field) is openly burned or dumped in sub-Saharan Africa...every minute. The rise of single-use plastics and inadequate waste management systems are driving the crisis, underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive solutions to address the escalating plastic waste problem in Africa and mitigate its adverse effects on the environment and society.
