One Single Use
October 3, 2023
On October 1st 2023, England banned single-use plastics, such as disposable plates, bowls, trays, cutlery, clingfilm, some food wrapping etc. building on 2020 band on drink stirrers, cotton buds and straws. But the average UK household still throws away 66 pieces of plastic packaging every week - and that is likely on the low end of estimates. So, even with laws and legislation, the onus remains on individual consumer to adopt more eco friendly practices and reduce the harmful effects of single-use plastics. Especially in the US, which is woefully behind the rest of the World.
