In a wholly underwhelming move, the U.S. government plans to ban the sale of single-use plastics in national parks and on public lands by 2032. The proposed ban aligns with global efforts to reduce plastic waste, signaling a commitment to sustainability - only its about 10 years later and much less comprehensive in nature. The phased approach emphasizes a gradual and painfully slow transition away from single-use plastics in the US, which continues to produce the most and do the least when it comes to plastic waste.
