With Air Jordans taking 40+ years to decompose and over 300 million pairs of trainers trashed every year, the shoe industry is one that needs improvement on eco front.  A Netherlands-based company has developed a closed-loop recycling solution - taking trainers and shredding them into rubber, foam, and textiles, which can then be recycled into useful applications like playgrounds, sports fields, or even new shoes. The company, FastFeetGrinded, aims to change the entire shoe industry by demonstrating the value of repurposed materials as a way to address the substantive waste in the footwear industry.
